DUI Suspect Arrested In Alameda After Man Fatally Struck By Car
Police were investigating a collision, possibly involving a driver under the influence, that left a man dead in Alameda.
ALAMEDA, CA — A man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence in Alameda after a collision left one man dead, officials said.
The collision was reported just before 10 p.m. at the intersection of Walnut Street and Lincoln Avenue, where officers found an unresponsive man lying in the road with major injuries, according to a report from the Alameda Police Department. The man, whose name has not been released, died at the scene, police said.
The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and was taken into custody on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, police said.
