Christopher Maffei, accused of kidnapping his two children and sailing away with them on a yacht stolen from Alameda's Ballena Isle Marina, was sentenced to 3 years in prison Friday.

Christopher Maffei, the man accused of kidnapping his two children and taking them on a multi-day excursion on a yacht stolen from Alameda's Ballena Isle Marina in September of 2012, was sentenced to three years in prison on Friday, according to The San Francisco Chronicle.
He is expected to serve only another nine months in prison with good behavior because of time already served, and he will possibly get 16 months of supervision afterward, The Chronicle reports. The superior court judge also ordered Maffei to stay away from his children until his sentence is complete, The Chronicle reports.
