Fire Damages Apartment Kitchen on Lincoln Avenue
No one was injured in the Monday afternoon fire.

A fire in the 1500 block of Lincoln Avenue Monday afternoon damaged the kitchen of a second-story apartment, according to Alameda Fire Department officials.
Firefighters were dispatched to the blaze at 1:48 p.m. and arrived four minutes later to find smoke coming from the second floor of a two-story apartment building, an AFD press release said.
The fire was confined to one unit's kitchen and was quickly extinguished, the release said. There was smoke damage in other rooms of the apartment.
The fire may have been caused by food cooking on the stove that was left unattended, the release said.
Damage is estimated at $10,000 to the structure and $7,000 to its contents.
A total of 15 firefighters responded to the scene. There were no reported injuries to firefighters or civilians.
