Free Car Seat Check-Up Saturday

The Alameda Police Department will help you make sure your child safety seat is installed the right way.

It seems like kids have to ride in car seats until they are nearly old enough to drive themselves, so you might as well make sure your child safety seats are installed correctly. Chances are they are not. According to the , 95 percent of car seats in the county are used or installed improperly. Let trained technicians show you the right way to use a car seat, courtesy of APD. The free check-up is Saturday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the police department parking lot at 1555 Oak Street.

In addition to the APD, the event is sponsored by the Alameda County Child Passenger Workgroup and Habitot Children’s Museum.
