Grant Funding to Help Clean Up Estuary

Alameda Fire Captain Domenick Weaver shows the dangers of the sunken boats and other hazardous items that litter the Oakland/Alameda Estuary. A $1.3 million grant is expected to clear the area of some of trash that litters the area.

The many sunken boats and other hazardous items that line the Oakland/Alameda Estuary may soon be cleaned out thanks to a $1.3 million grant from a state agency, the Alamedan Reports.

Alameda Fire Captain Domenick Weaver took Alameda Patch on a tour of the area to talk about just how hazardous the area is. [Check out the video above]
