Kamala Harris Returns To CA For Easter, Infrastructure Talks

OAKLAND, CA — Vice President Kamala Harris was slated to visit her home state for Easter weekend, coupling her personal visit with a trip to the Bay Area to discuss the Biden administration's $2-trillion infrastructure proposal.

It will be the third time Harris has visited the state since she was sworn into office.

Harris was scheduled to touch ground in the Southland on Thursday and remain in Los Angeles through Monday night with her husband Doug Emhoff. She plans to travel to Oakland on Monday to discuss plans for water infrastructure and bolstering small businesses, according to multiple reports.

Harris was recently appointed by President Joe Biden to lead the nation on immigration diplomacy in response to a surge in asylum seekers, according to multiple reports.

Harris owns a home in Brentwood with her husband but she has reportedly spent most of her time in Washington D.C. since taking office. And after more than two months of living temporarily in the Blair House, Harris is preparing to move into her official residence on the on the grounds of the U.S. Naval Observatory.

Harris and Emhoff will reportedly move into the official vice presidential residence on Massachusetts Avenue in northwest Washington next week, Symone Sanders, senior adviser and chief spokesperson for the vice president, tweeted Thursday.

Harris recently sold her $799,000 loft apartment in San Francisco, where she lived in the early days of her political tenure.

On Tuesday, Harris was scheduled to travel to Chicago to discuss the state of the coronavirus rollout before returning to Washington D.C., ABC 7 reports.
