Kite Surfer Rescued Off Alameda
Rescue Boat 1 and a helicopter from East Bay Regional Parks District participated in the rescue.

ALAMEDA, CA - A female kite surfer was rescued off Alameda Saturday evening.
The Alameda Fire Department reports that it received a report of a distressed kite surfer at 5:23 pm. When crews arrived, they spotted her about 1/2 mile from shore between Shoreline Dr. and Bay Farm Island.
An AFD rescue swimmer entered the Bay and reached the kite surfer. With the assistance of AFD Rescue Boat 1, she was safely brought back to shore.
