Man Murdered In West Oakland Identified

OAKLAND, CA — A man who was fatally shot in West Oakland on Tuesday night has been identified by police as 47-year-old Jonathin Jones of Oakland.

Officers who responded to the 900 block of Willow Street in the Campbell Village area at about 9:45 p.m. Tuesday to investigate a report of a shooting found Jones suffering from a gunshot wound, according to police.

Paramedics provided first aid to Jones but he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

No one has been arrested for Jones' death and police haven't released any information about a possible motive.
