Community Rallies To Help Family Of Calif. Dad Who Drowned
He died earlier this month leaving behind a wife and two young children.

ALAMEDA, CA — The tragic loss of a life too soon has brought an outpouring of kindness and financial help for the family of Robert Luiz, who died on June 7 while spearfishing and free diving in La Paz, Mexico. He leaves behind his wife Jessica and two children, Mackenzie and Valerie.
Alameda College wrote a Facebook dedication to Luiz, who was taking a class at the school, "Those of us in class with Robert will remember him as a bright student, devoted husband, and loving father that spoke fondly of his daughters."
A Go Fund Me page has been started to pay for end of life expenses, and to support his widow and young children. At this time, donations are nearing $50,000.
