Park District Opposes Housing Development on Property for Crab Cove Expansion

East Bay Regional Park District officials and their supporters voiced opposition to a proposed housing development on property the district had hoped to purchase for a Crab Cove expansion, according to The Alamedan.
The Wednesday Planning Board meeting aimed to gather public input on what should be included in an environmental study of the possible impacts created by developing the property along McKay Avenue, The Alamedan reports.
Representatives of the East Bay Regional Park District told the Planning Board they felt voters wanted the Crab Cove expansion when they approved a 2008 regional park bond which included purchasing the property and expanding the park.
