Pedestrian Killed by Car Identified as Alameda Resident
Man struck yesterday near local shopping center

A man struck and killed by a car near an Alameda shopping center
Monday afternoon was identified today as a 69-year-old Alameda resident.
Augusta Collins was hit near the corner of Constitution Way and
Marina Village Parkway just after noon, according to the Alameda County
coroner’s bureau.
Police said Collins was crossing Constitution Way when he was hit
by a car headed south in the right lane. The police investigation disrupted
traffic coming through the Posey Tube from Oakland.
