UPDATE: Reported Hanging Body Shuts Down High Street Bridge
Alameda Police closed the bridge down for about an hour to investigate a body that was reported hanging off the bridge Monday afternoon.
High Street Bridge reopened after police conducted an hour-long investigation regarding an apparent suicide, police said.
At around 12:53 p.m., Alameda Police Department was notified about a body hanging from High Street Bridge, according to Lt. Ted Horlbeck.
"It appears to be a suicide," Horlbeck said.

Alameda County Coroner is in the process of conducting further investigation he added.
Alameda Police posted on its Facebook and Twitter pages around 1:15 p.m. that both directions on the bridge had been closed down. Drivers were advised to seek alternate routs. An advisory was also sent out via e-mail.

About an hour later, police sent out another alert saying that the investigation concluded and the bridge had reopened.
Back in April 2011, a person was also found hanging from the Miller-Sweeny (Fruitvale) Bridge.
