Police Log: Collision Sends Cyclist to Hospital, Burglars Hit Homes, City Garage, Ploughshares Nursery

Incidents highlighted here were recorded in the Alameda Police Department log Nov. 18-26. Information was supplied by the police and does not indicate any convictions.

MONDAY, NOV. 18

Auto thefts — Vehicles were reported stolen from the 1000 block of Pacific Avenue, the 1900 block of Central Avenue and the 2500 block of Blanding Avenue.

Home burglary — A residential burglary was reported in the 2000 block of Shoreline Drive.

TUESDAY, NOV. 19

Commercial burglary — The Ploughshares Nursery at 2701 Main St. was burglarized by someone who cut open a wire fence.

DUI arrest — A 24-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated after a collision in the 3300 block of Otis Drive between 10 and 10:30 p.m. Police said the man fled on foot after the accident but was captured and identified. The man was already on probation for a DUI offense, police said.

WEDNESDAY, NOV 20

Auto theft — A vehicle was stolen from the 1800 block of Wood Street.

THURSDAY, NOV. 21

Residential burglary — A burglar entered a home on the 1700 block of Eighth Street and stole a variety of items.

FRIDAY, NOV. 22

Bicyclist vs. vehicle — A 49-year-old Alameda man was admitted to Highland Hospital in Oakland with severe injuries after a collision with a vehicle at the corner of Lincoln Avenue and Oak Street about 7:43 a.m. 

SATURDAY, NOV. 23

Theft of city property — A burglar cut a hole in a fence at the city-owned parking structure at 1416 Oak St. and stole a variety of tools. The burglary was reported at 9:26 a.m.

SUNDAY, NOV. 24

Residential burglary — A burglar entered a residence on Rainbow Court through an unlocked door and stole jewelry and other items.

TUESDAY, NOV. 26

Auto theft — A vehicle was stolen from the 2800 block of San Jose Avenue.
