Police Log: Identity Thefts, Suspicious Voicemail on City Attorney's Voicemail, and Residential Burglaries

Incidents highlighted here were recorded in the Alameda Police Department log from June 17 to 19. Information was supplied by the police and does not indicate any convictions.

Monday, June 17

  • 9:01 a.m.: Vehicle burglary was reported on the 2800 block of Jackson Street. A suspect entered a victim's locked vehicle and took loss.
  • 10:30 a.m.: Identity theft was reported on the 1400 block of 8th Street. Suspect used victim's credit card info to make online purchases.
  • 1:47 p.m.: A suspicious voicemail was left on the Alameda City Attorney's general voicemail box.
  • 7:10 p.m.: Auto theft was reported on the 2200 block of South Shore Center. 
  • 9:39 p.m.: A 23-year-old man was observed driving a confirmed stolen vehicle. He was ordered out of the vehicle and was taken into custody for auto theft and driving with a suspended license. He was arrested and was booked.
  • 10:53 p.m.: Residential burglary was reported on the 1100 block of Admiralty Lane. Unknown suspect entered residence through an unlocked front window, conducted a search of the residence, selected several items, then fled through the front door with the loss. Suspect left behind several items not belonging to victim in and outside the residence.
Tuesday, June 18
  • 8:56 a.m.: Identity theft was reported on the 2000 block of Santa Clara Avenue. Suspect opened an account under victim's name without permission.
  • 12:49 p.m.: Auto theft was reported on the 1200 block of South Loop Road.
Wednesday, June 19
  • 8:36 a.m.: Auto theft was reported on the 1200 block of South Loop Road. 
  • 11:18 a.m.: Identity theft was reported on the 2000 block of Encinal Avenue. A suspect used victim's stolen checks to buy merchandise.
  • 3:14 p.m.: Identity theft was reported on the 1000 block of Marianas Lane. Suspect used victim's checking account number to cash a counterfeit check.
  • 6:15 p.m.: Residential burglary was reported on the 3000 block of Bayview Drive. A suspect entered an opened garage and removed box containing loss.
