Police Log: Laundry Room Burglars, Auto Thefts and Doorstep Package Thief

Incidents highlighted here were recorded in the Alameda Police Department log from June 6 to 9. Information was supplied by the police and does not indicate any convictions.

Sunday, June 9

  • 6:14 p.m.: A vehicle burglary was reported on the 2600 block of Blanding Avenue. Suspect broke window to victim's vehicle, took property and fled with loss. A stolen credit card was used within minutes of the crime at local businesses by two unknown suspects.
  • 6:22 p.m.: A residential burglary was reported on the 1100 block of Park Avenue. Suspect entered apartment complex to laundry room and stole coins from a dryer.
  • 8:38 p.m.: A vehicle burglary was reported on the corner of Adelphian Way and Sweet Way. Suspect gained entry into vehicle by breaking two windows, selected an iPhone, iPad, and backpack, a fled with loss.
Saturday, June 8
  • 12:49 a.m.: A man was arrested for possession of narcotics. He was
    contacted as he was walking around in a private driveway next to the Fire Den bar. He was found to have a warrant issued for his arrest. He was also in possession of suspected cocaine.
  • 10:33 a.m.: A residential burglary was reported on the 2400 block of Shoreline Drive. Suspect entered victim's apartment. Once, inside, suspect took victim's cell phone.
Friday, June 7
  • 10:08 a.m.: Grand theft from car was reported on the 1000 block of Holly Street. A suspect stole two wheels and tired from a victim's parked car.
  • 9:30 a.m.: Auto theft was reported on the 2000 block of Encincal Avenue. 
  • 12:21 p.m.: A residential burglary was reported on the 2100 block of Santa Clara Avenue. A suspect entered the laundry room of an apartment complex, broke into two washing machines and stole money.
  • 1:35 p.m.: Auto theft was reported on the 1500 block of Union Street.
Thursday, June 6
  • 3:03 p.m.: Grand theft was reported on the 500 block of Central Avenue. A suspect hooked up a victim's trailer to their vehicle and fled the area with the trailer.
  • 6:04 p.m.: A suspect took a package from a victim's doorstep at the 400 block of Haight Avenue. 
  • 7:26 p.m.: A residential burglary was reported ont he 2000 block of San Jose Avenue. An unknown suspect entered victims' apartment by unknown means, took loss and fled.
