OAKLAND, CA — The Oakland Raiders have released general manager Reggie McKenzie amid a disappointing season, ending his six-year tenure with the team.
McKenzie, a former linebacker with the Raiders, was named the team's general manager in 2012 after working in the front office of the Green Bay Packers.
Oakland made the playoffs in the 2016-17 National Football League season after a 12-4 record, but has struggled the past two years, including going 3-10 so far this season.

"We are grateful for everything Reggie has done for this organization as a player, executive and member of the Raider family," the team said in a statement.
The Raiders will search for a new front office executive and did not provide any further explanation for the move.
