Nothing says rivalry like the annual Army-Navy game. And this year fans can cheer their teams to victory during a special broadcast of the 113th gridiron match onboard the USS Hornet.

The game takes place on Saturday with kickoff at noon, but fans can arrive at 10 a.m. and claim their viewing spot. Food and beer will be available for purchase from Schubros Brewery. Fans will be able to watch the game on a theater-sized screen.

Tickets to the viewing party are included in the price of admission to the USS Hornet. Admission is: $16 for adults; $13 for military personnel, students and seniors $7 for youth ages 5-17; children under 5 are free with paying adults.

The USS Hornet is located at 707 W. Hornet Ave., Pier 3 in Alameda. Ample free parking is available across from the pier.

This year, Navy looks to expand on its unprecedented 10-year winning streak, while Army looks to break the decade-long slump. The first Army-Navy game was played in 1890 at West Point.

This special event is sponsored by San Ramon-based Schubros Brewery and DaVinci Fusion, a San Francisco production agency.

“We are extremely pleased to host this special viewing of the Army-Navy game onboard this year,” said Randall Ramian, CEO of the USS Hornet Museum. “Preparing the hangarbay for the broadcast is no easy feat, but we are thankful for our partner, Davinci Fusion’s expertise in setting this up.”

“I couldn’t be more excited about the opportunity to sponsor this event.  And then to do it here, onboard the Hornet, is a dream come true” said Ian Schuster, President of Schubros Brewery. “I haven’t been this excited to watch the game since I was a midshipman back at Annapolis.”

Davinci Fusion, the USS Hornet’s official partner for theatrical events, will prepare the hanger bay, and erect a large screen for the crowd to watch the event live in theater style.
