Shoots and Ladders: Basketball Face-Off of First Responders

All proceeds from the game go to support programs of Alameda Family Services, which helps individuals and families through counseling, Head Start, Early Head Start, School-Based Health Centers, Homeless Youth Services, and other programs.

From Alameda Family Services

in cooperation with the Alameda Police and Fire Departments, will host Shoots and Ladders, a basketball game featuring teams representing our men and women in blue.

Special guest sportscasters Tom Tolbert (KNBR) and Steve Bitker (KCBS) will emcee this exciting contest to see who — Alameda Fire Department vs. Alameda Police Department — gets bragging rights for the next year.

The game will be played at the Alameda High School Gym, Oak St. entrance on May 3. Doors at the Oak St. Entrance open at 6 p.m., and game time starts at 7 p.m.

In addition to the main event, there will be a pre-game free throw contest, door prizes, and a grand prize drawing for a mountain bike to be won by the holder of a lucky admission ticket.

Tickets are priced for every budget, so bring the family and cheer for your favorite first responders.

Ticket prices:
General Admission - $15
Students (with ID) - $10
Children (ages 6-12) - $5
Children (under 6) - free

You can purchase your tickets online from Alameda Family Services: http://alamedafamilyservices.brownpapertickets.com or get them at the Office located at 2325 Clement Ave. You can also purchase them at the door on game day.
