Sidewalk Repairs Begin This Month

Alameda's annual sidewalk repair program is scheduled to begin early this month, according to a city press release.

The project will remove and replace sidewalks that have been damaged by street trees at various locations throughout Alameda, the release says.

The city will notify residents via door hangers 72 hours before construction is scheduled to start on an individual block. “No Parking” signs will be posted 72 hours in advance where parking spaces will be impacted by the work.

Construction hours are Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Bus stop access will be maintained throughout the project. 

This fiscal year's repairs are expected to be completed within six months, the release says.

The work is funded by the Alameda County half-cent sales tax Measure B. No monies from the city's General Fund will be used.
