Olympic Florist will be closing its doors on June 22. The shop, located at 2544 Santa Clara Avenue, has been open in Alameda since 1979.

"I live far away and the expenses are too high and it's just not working out," owner Pam Earl said.

ULTA Beauty will be opening either the second or third week of June an Alameda South Shore Center official said. The store, which provides salon products and services, will be located at 2245 South Shore Center.

Baron's Meat & Poultry, located in the Alameda Marketplace, will be opening Baron's Eats. According to an email sent out by the Baron's, the eatery will specialize in sausages and sandwiches using ingredients from Baron's Meat & Poultry as well as the rest of the Marketplace — including bread from Feel Good Bakery and fresh produce from Alameda Natural Grocery.

It will be located where East End Pizza once was. Building for the eatery begins soon, the email said. East End Pizza is moving into the larger spot vacated by Ching Hua restaurant.
