Stolen Amazon Packages Recovered By Police
Alameda Police say surveillance video caught the delivery driver dumping the packages.
ALAMEDA, CA — Police are calling it an inside job. Dozens of Amazon packages were dumped in Alameda, and an eyewitness saw a delivery driver tossing them out.
On Monday, Alameda Police said, "Last week, a local business discovered over two dozen undelivered Amazon boxes, soft packages, and, what appeared to be, the contents of some of the boxes, discarded in their bushes.
"Upon arriving at the scene, a witness reported seeing a delivery driver dropping off packages in the area of Fernside and High Street the previous evening. Shortly after nightfall, the same delivery van returned to the area and the driver exited the vehicle, climbed into the back, and appeared to discard items onto the business’ property.

"Footage from a nearby private residence corroborated the witness's statements."
The addresses for the packages were Bay Farm Island. The officer began contacting the residents listed on the shipping labels. Nearly all of them had received a delivery notification but did not receive their packages. "Some even reviewed their security footage and confirmed no delivery attempts were made despite being notified about the delivery."
