Suspect In 2 Alameda Shootings Arrested

ALAMEDA, CA — A juvenile suspect has been arrested in connection with two shootings reported in January, Alameda police said Wednesday.

The first shooting was reported Jan. 13 in the 500 block of Santa Clara Avenue.

The second shooting, which resulted in an injury to a teenage victim who was struck, was reported Jan. 24 in the 1400 block of Park Street.

The victim in the second shooting had between with two other juveniles who were not struck by gunfire during the shooting, police said. The Alameda Fire Department took the victim to a nearby hospital, where it was determined the injury was non-life-threatening, police said.

An extensive investigation led to the identification of a suspect who was arrested last week in Berkeley with assistance from the U.S. Marshalls Task Force, police said.

The case has been turned over to the Alameda County District Attorney's Office.
