This Week: Town Hall with Congresswoman Barbara Lee, Nea Info Night, Support Sailing at Otaez

And for the civic-minded, several city boards and commissions meet this week.

Congresswoman Barbara Lee (D-13th District) will host a town hall meeting in the City Hall council chambers, 2263 Santa Clara Ave., on Saturday, Nov. 16, at 10 a.m.

Lee will provide an update on legislative activities in Washington, D.C.

More events happening in Alameda this week:

On Tuesday, Nov. 12, Nea Community Learning Center will hold its first family information night for prospective families, with the K-2 presentation at 6 p.m. and the Grades 3-5 presentation at 7 p.m. The charter school is located at 500 Pacific Ave. For more information, call (510) 217-8823.

On Wednesday, Nov. 13, eat at Otaez Mexican Restaurant, 1619 Webster St., and the restaurant will donate part of the proceeds to the Alameda Community Sailing Center. The nonprofit group is raising funds to purchase boats that can provide access to sailing for everyone.

Tuesday, Nov. 12, Youth Advisory Commission at 5 p.m. and Golf Commission at 6:30 p.m. 

Wednesday, Nov. 13, Library Board at 6 p.m. and Planning Board at 7 p.m.

Thursday, Nov. 14, Recreation and Park Commission, 7 p.m.
