Home prices have risen steadily this year and some experts see this trend continuing for two to three more years.

In Alameda, the least expensive single-family home we could find was this two-bedroom, one-bathroom house at 623 Central Ave. It's listed at $285,000.

The wood-shingle house was built in 1909. It's 1,139 square feet on a tenth of an acre.
