Where To Get Sandbags In Alameda

ALAMEDA, CA —With several days of heavy rain in the forecast, the City of Alameda has stocked sandbags and sand that will be provided free to residents and business owners.

If you think that you may need sandbags, get them as soon as possible.

Bring your own shovel, and it's best to have two people get the sandbags since it's easier to fill them if one person holds the bag while the other person shovels in the sand. Limit: 5.

Another smart reminder is to check for leaves and other debris in the gutters of your home and along your street, especially near storm drains. Sweep away leaves to keep the water flowing.
