Hom's Toyota collided with a Buick Encore. Hom then lost control of the minivan, which left the highway, overturned and hit a tree, CHP officials said.

The driver and passengers of the Buick stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation, CHP officials said. CHP officials have not said whether drugs or alcohol are believed to be a factor in the crash.
