Woman's Identity Withheld Following Deadly Crash

She died Tuesday after being hit while crossing Encinal Avenue.

ALAMEDA, CA — The name of a pedestrian killed in Alameda on Tuesday is being withheld by the Alameda County Coroner's Office at the request of the Alameda Police Department, a coroner's office worker told Patch on Thursday.

The woman was struck by a vehicle as she crossed Encinal Avenue, reportedly in a crosswalk. The driver stopped and cooperated with police.

The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment, where she died.
