Young, Talented Pianist at the Waters Edge Lodge Featured on NBC

Meet an Alameda prodigy who goes by the name of Christopher Nguyen. Christopher is a delightful young man who began playing the piano at 5 years old and who had a knack for it, according to his mother Maggie Hoang. Christopher’s parents realized his talent when they heard him naming the notes that were being played on the radio.

Rather than going the traditional route of music lessons, Christopher decided to take his parents suggestion and play for seniors at Waters Edge Lodge and has been doing so almost every week since he was 6 years old. When asked about why he goes and plays for the seniors, his reasoning is sweet and simple: He likes to make people happy and he likes putting a smile on peoples faces. The Lodge’s seniors are delighted with the entertainment and make a great audience. Christopher was recently featured in NBC Bay Area.

Waters Edge Lodge is an assisted living community located along the Harbor Bay lagoon in Alameda. One of the delightful things about Waters Edge Lodge is that they provide activities for seniors such as foreign language classes, art workshops, meditation, and of course, live music, as provided by Christopher among others.
