1,200 Lightning Strikes Recorded In Bay Area
More thunderstorms are on the way with lightning, hail and high winds all a possibility.

Thunder and lightning are pretty unusual here in the Bay Area but Monday, and especially Monday night, they provided an aerial lighting show.
The National Weather Service reports some 1,200 cloud-to-ground lightning strikes occurred and nearly 7,000 total flashes were recorded Monday for the entire Bay Area.

The weather service hasn't received any reports of damage as a result of the lightning. However, SFO reports that lightning struck near a worker towing an empty United Airlines jet Monday night. He was evaluated and cleared by medics.
