Alameda County Coronavirus Death Toll Rises: Albany Cases
Since last Friday, the county has added 1169 newly confirmed cases.
ALBANY, CA — In the shadow of wildfires, a heatwave and rolling blackouts, the coronavirus pandemic continues nearly unabated in Alameda County.
The latest data from the county shows 1169 newly reported cases since last Friday for a total of 16,469 since the beginning of the pandemic.
Over the past week the death toll has risen by 4, bringing the county's total deaths since the start of the pandemic to 234.

There are 202 people currently hospitalized for complications from COVID-19, caused by coronavirus. Across the entire Bay Area, the number is 665.
Here in Albany, there have been 43 confirmed cases since the first identified illnesses in March.
