Albany Coronavirus Cases; CA Approves Outdoor Hair Services

ALBANY, CA — Alameda County health officials announced no new coronavirus related deaths on Monday, with the overall toll still at 162.

There were just 19 new cases of coronavirus confirmed in the county on Monday.

The declining numbers are significant. Alameda County is currently on the state's "Watch List" and the way to get removed is to have important key statistics headed down. Only then will the county be allowed to reopen schools, fully open businesses, and more.

For perspective, Los Angeles County reported 3,160 new cases on Monday, Orange County had 560, and San Diego County had 453.

Here in Albany, there have now been 26 cases confirmed since the beginning of the pandemic.

The state announced a significant change on Monday, allowing barbershops, hair salons and nail salons to operate outdoors. Here is the state guidance for businesses.
