Albany Protest Planned In Support Of School Reopening

The rally commemorates the one-year anniversary of school closures.

ALBANY, CA — An organized group in Albany plans to hold a demonstration Friday in support of reopening elementary schools five days a week.

The rally, which commemorates the one-year anniversary of school closures, will be held at Solano and Cornell avenues from 3:12 to 4:12 p.m.

The group wants local schools to open five day a week for elementary school students.

“It’s time to stop analyzing and start opening. We must stop sacrificing our children and get schools open 5 full days for elementary students and a robust schedule for middle and high school students now. All schools must fully reopen in the fall,” the group said in a statement.

“…the science is overwhelming that closed schools harm students.”
