Cal Bears Football Adds Open Practice This Saturday

BERKELEY, CA – Cal has added an open practice to its 2016 spring schedule at Kabam Field at California Memorial Stadium this Saturday, April 2. Gates are scheduled to open at 10:30 am PT. The Golden Bears are currently in their third week of spring workouts that will conclude with the Cal Football Spring Scrimmage televised live on Pac-12 Networks on Saturday, April 16 (11 am).

Cal opens its 2016 season in Australia at the College Football Sydney Cup against Hawai’i on Saturday, Aug. 27. The contest will be played at the 83,000-seat ANZ Stadium and be the first college football game ever in Sydney.

Cal has six home contests in 2016 including five Pac-12 games following the non-conference home opener Sept. 17 against Texas. The Bears will host their first conference game Oct. 1 vs. Utah and play a Friday night home contest against Oregon on Oct. 21. Three of their final four regular-season games – Washington (Nov. 5), Stanford (Nov. 19) and UCLA (Nov. 26) – will also be in Berkeley.

Kickoff times and television networks for all 2016 Cal football games will be announced at later dates.
