Important Information for 4th of July Celebrations in Albany

WARNING ABOUT FIREWORKS

The City of Albany along with the Albany Police want to remind the community that ALL fireworks are illegal in the City of
Albany. Even fireworks that are labeled “Safe and Sane” are prohibited and pose a dangerous fire hazard.

Help keep our community safe by:

  • Not using any type of fireworks
  • Calling the police to report use of fireworks by others

The Albany Police Department wants you to have a safe 4th of July, so please be safe and avoid using fireworks. To notify the
Police Department about illegal fireworks call 1+ (510) 525‐7300.

4th of July Street Closures:
Buchanan Street west of Interstate 80 will be closed to all vehicular traffic. Hillside Avenue and Taft Street will be closed and only residents of those blocks will be allowed to enter.
