Albany Fire Dept. Open House & Pancake Breakfast: Sat. 8 to Noon

The Albany Fire Department's annual open house and Pancake Breakfast benefit will be held Saturday, Oct. 12, 8 a.m. to noon. Have a hearty breakfast, see demonstrations and meet Smokey the Bear and Sparky the Fire Dog.

The annual Albany Fire Department breakfast takes place Saturday, Oct. 12, from 8 a.m. to noon at the fire station.

The annual benefit for the Alisa Ann Ruch Burn Foundation also includes an open house with raffles, fire and safety demonstrations, and guest appearances by Sparky the Fire Dog and Smokey the Bear.

Every year in October, during Fire Prevention Week, the Albany Fire Department makes safety presentations to all of the elementary schools in Albany. As a finale the Albany Fire Department holds a pancake breakfast to benefit the Alisa Ann Ruch Burn Foundation. Last year over 800 people attended and through donations the purchase of tickets and filling the boot we were able to sponsor two scholarships for Champ Camp. 

Sparky the Fire Dog and Smokey the Bear will be in attendance, we will be having raffles, live fire demonstrations, electrical and natural gas safety demonstrations, Engines on display, as well as sign-ups for CPR and First-Aid classes. 

The breakfast is $7 for adults and $4 for children 6 and under. The breakfast is from 08:00 to 12:00 and will be held on October 12th at the Albany fire station located at 1000 San Pablo Avenue (Behind City Hall on the corner of Marin and San Pablo.)
