Free Filled Sandbags In Albany Saturday

King Tides are coming this weekend and more storms are expected before the end of winter. Be prepared!

ALBANY, CA — King Tides are coming this weekend, Jan. 10-12, and again Feb. 8-9, with localized flooding in the usual spots. If you are vulnerable, now is the time to pick up free sandbags in the city of Albany.

Do-It-Yourself

Just take proof of Albany residency to the City of Albany Fire Department, 1000 San Pablo Ave., to get your sandbags. The sand is at the Ocean View Park parking lot, 900 Buchanan St., in Albany. Be sure to take a shovel with you because none are on site.

Assistance

Take proof of Albany residency to the Ocean View Parking Lot, 900 Buchanan St., in Albany, between the hours of 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. this Saturday. Bags will be free and available on-site. Volunteers will fill your bags and load them into your car.

If you can't make it this Saturday, free filled sandbags will be loaded into your vehicle again on Feb. 1.
