Kathy Evans Celebration of Life This Saturday
The beloved teacher died in October following a long struggle with leukemia.

ALBANY, CA — The Evans family and Cornell staff have organized a celebration of Kathy Evans' life on Saturday, December 9th in the Cornell Multipurpose Room. Everyone who wishes to attend is warmly invited.
As many of you have heard, Kathy Evans passed away on October 22nd after a long struggle against leukemia. Miss Kathy taught at Cornell Elementary school for almost twenty years and loved every day of it. Her classroom was an extension of her personality: bright and pleasant, thoughtful and calm, and welcoming to all. We greatly miss Kathy, but her impact on the Albany community is everlasting.
>> 12:00-1:30 PM: Memorial Service
This is a smaller gathering for Kathy's family, friends, neighbors, and Albany coworkers. There will be a few speakers and an "open-mic" for those who wish to share stories. Light refreshments will be offered.
>> 1:30-3:00 PM: Drop-in Celebration
We invite the larger community (students, past families, and colleagues, along with family, friends, and neighbors) to join us in remembering Kathy. This is a casual opportunity for people to mingle, make pictures, admire Kathy's art projects, enjoy photographs, and listen to a playlist of her favorite songs.
The Cornell Multipurpose Room is attached to the school building, and can be accessed from the Cornell St. entrance.
If you would like to make a contribution in honor of Kathy, please consider these options:
