Man Killed By Train In Albany ID'd

The deadly accident happened on Tuesday of last week.

ALBANY, CA — A man who was killed when a Capital Corridor train struck him while he was on railroad tracks in Albany last Tuesday morning was identified by the Alameda County coroner's bureau on Monday as 45-year-old Matthew Madrid.

The collision between Madrid and train No. 523 heading from Sacramento to San Jose was reported at 7:07 a.m. last Tuesday, according to Amtrak spokeswoman Olivia Irvin.

None of the approximately 240 passengers and crew members on the train were injured, Irvin said.

A coroner's spokeswoman said she didn't have a residence listed for Madrid.
