Obituary: Alameda County Firefighter Eric Mikel
He died on Monday, according to the department.
RICHMOND, CA — Alameda County Firefighter Eric Mikel died in Richmond on Monday, the department announced on Instagram.
In a post, the department said, "Firefighter Mikel was a valued member of our organization and will be missed. We are grateful to the Richmond Police Department and the Richmond Fire Department for their efforts to assist Firefighter Mikel."
He joined the department on March 1, 2005 was was assigned to Station 34 in Emeryville.

"ACFD Chief David Rocha and the men and women of the Department extend their sincerest condolences to his family during this devastating and challenging time," the post concluded.
