Obituary: Bryson Ambrose Young, 20, UC Berkeley Student
Although just 20, Young was a senior on the pre-med track, with plans to become a bilingual doctor.

“He was fiercely committed to bringing together communities of color, which is why he wanted to become a bilingual doctor.” Spencer Simpson is describing his roommate at Afro House co-op, Bryson Ambrose Young, a UC Berkeley senior on the pre-med track who was also studying Spanish.
Young died in his sleep Sunday night at his San Jose home. He was 20. His cause of death has not been released.
Simpson told the Daily Californian that Young was “extremely passionate” about his career goals. That’s why his summer plans included an internship at the Roots Community Health Center in Oakland, an organization that provides health care services to uninsured and low-income residents.

Young is survived by his parents, brother and sister. His roommates are working with Young’s family for organize a celebration of life for the campus community.
