Pedestrian Killed on Interstate Identified
The highway was shut down for 8 hours on Monday because of the crash.

ALBANY, CA — A pedestrian who died in a hit-and-run collision early Monday morning on Interstate Highway 580 in Albany has been identified as 31-year-old San Pablo resident Luis Barba, according to the Alameda County coroner's bureau.
Barba was killed in a collision at about 4:30 a.m. on westbound Highway 580 near Central Avenue, California Highway Patrol officials said.
No cars stopped at the scene so the CHP is investigating the case as a hit-and-run, CHP spokesman Officer Sean Wilkenfeld said.

All westbound lanes of the highway, which leads to the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge, were closed in the area for about eight hours while CHP officers investigated the collision. The highway reopened by about 12:30 p.m.
