Police Calls: 2 Men, Woman Arrested at Target on Check Fraud
The Albany police logs for Sept. 30 - Oct. 1 include two men and a woman arrested at Target on check fraud, a stolen vehicle on Pierce, a man who took items from Safeway, two drug arrests, and two trees that disappeared.

The following information was obtained from the daily incident log and arrest log of the Albany Police Department.
Monday, Sept. 30
Stolen vehicle – At 11:43 a.m., police received a report of a vehicle stolen last night on Pierce. Disposition: Case report taken.
Tree theft? – At 3:11 p.m., a person who received two trees during a free city tree giveaway reported that the trees were taken between 1-2:30 p.m. today. The person doesn't know if they were stolen or if the city took them and planted them elsewhere but wanted police to be aware that someone may be driving around stealing the trees. Disposition: Log note only.
Non-injury accident – At 5:08 p.m., police received a report of a non-injury accident involving a white sports car and gray sedan at Marin and Ventura. Disposition: Unable to locate source of complaint.
Three arrested at Target – Between 6:13 p.m. and 6:54 p.m., police arrested two men and a woman on suspicion of check fraud. One of the suspects, a 37-year-old San Francisco man, was arrested also on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine or other controlled substance. The other two suspects, a 25-year-old San Leandro man and 31-year-old San Francisco woman, were arrested also on suspicion of federal forgery violations.
Theft at Safeway – At 7:47 p.m., police received a report that a man just walked out carrying several items from Safeway and was headed toward Solano on foot. He was described as black in his 40s, 6-feet tall, 160 pounds, wearing a gray sweatshirt and black pants. Disposition: Case report taken.
Tuesday, Oct. 1
Drug arrest – At 2:55 a.m., police arrested a 48-year-old male transient at 800 Buchanan on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine or other controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. The arrest followed an officer-initiated bicycle stop.
Identify theft – At 9:55 a.m., a person who currently lives in Europe told police that she was informed that she was a victim of ID theft by credit report. Disposition: Case report taken.
Monitor stolen – At 11 a.m., police logged an officer-initiated report of the theft of a monitor at Jackson and Buchanan. Disposition: Case report taken.
Drug arrest – At 7:06 p.m., police arrested a 51-year-old Oakland man at Filmore and Pierce on suspicion of illegal possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. The arrest followed an officer-initiated "traffic hazard" report at 6:43 p.m. at Pierce and Solano.
