Police Calls: Group Caught Drinking Illegally Want Refund, Agitated Turkey
The Albany police logs for Oct. 5-6 include five people seeking a refund after being caught drinking illegally, a cab passenger arrested after punching another passenger in the face, an iPod and cell phone stolen from a car and an agitated turkey.

The following information was obtained from the daily incident log and arrest log of the Albany Police Department.
Saturday, Oct. 5
Female strikes male with fist – At 12:33 a.m., police received a report of a male and female at Kinkhead Way and Ohlone arguing and the female striking the male with a fist. Disposition: Assistance given to outside agency.
Non-injury accident – At 8:14 a.m., police received a transferred 911 call reporting a non-injury accident at Washington and San Pablo. Disposition: Case report taken.
Dog in vehicle with windows up – At 11:34 a.m., police received a report of a dog in a vehicle on Portland with all windows rolled up. Disposition: No police action warranted at this time.
Agitated turkey – At 7:15 p.m., police received a report of an agitated turkey on Monroe between Jackson and San Pablo. Disposition: Matter/persons referred to outside agency.
Sunday, Oct. 6
Illegal drinkers want refund – At 12:04 a.m., police received a report of a group of five people who had been caught drinking illegally were now at the front desk on San Pablo demanding refunds that the business is unwilling to provide. Disposition: Miscellaneous violation – warning given.
Battery, outstanding warrant arrest – At 2:42 a.m., police arrested a 34-year-old Albany man in the 400 block of San Pablo Avenue on suspicion of battery and on an outstanding warrant. The arrest followed a 2:16 a.m. report from a person who got into a taxi at Solano and San Pablo with a heavy-set man, who punched the reporting party in the face when the reporting party refused to get out of the taxi.
Cell phone, iPod stolen from vehicle – At 3:16 a.m., police received a report of a cell phone and iPod taken from a vehicle at Target. The front passenger window was smashed.
Non-injury accident – At 10:26 a.m., police received a report of a non-injury accident at Solano and San Pablo. Disposition: No police action warranted at this time.
Man going through recyclables – At 6:23 p.m., police received a report of a man about 60 years old with a couple of trash bags on his back going through recyclables on Marin. Disposition: Unable to locate source of complaint.
Red light lasts too long – At 6:56 p.m., police received a complaint of a new traffic signal facing eastbound staying on red for an extended period of time. Disposition: Report is unfounded
Transient in the stairwell – At 7:05 p.m., police received a report of a male transient about 40 years old in the stairwell at the rear of a building on Solano. The reporting party would like him removed from the premises. Disposition: Responsible/s advised of complaint, will correct situation.
Persistent late-night door knocker – At 10:05 p.m., police received a report from a resident on Cerrito that about eight minutes ago an unknown subject was constantly knocking and tapping at her door. She had no idea who it could be and and would like for an officer to check the area. Disposition: Matter or reported situation checks out O.K.
Threat from assailant – (Editor's note: We're not quite sure what happened so we are publishing this log entry exactly as it appears.) "22:58 Assistance to an Outside Agency / Occurred at Orientation Center Blind on Adams. , Albany. Rp advised he received a vm from an x-student today at 1430hrs stating the person who attacked him 3 months ago while walking on the snake path next to the creek was bragging about it to and told him that he needed to be careful because it's going to happen again. Rp stated he informed his supervisor of what happened and she stated she would contact chp tomorrow, but rp is frightened and would like to speak with an officer. . Disposition: Log note only."
