Track Woes Halt BART Trains Friday

Alameda-Contra Costa Transit provided bus service during the disruptions, officials said.

CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA —BART resumed service on the Richmond line Friday afternoon after an equipment problem on the tracks halted trains between the El Cerrito del Norte and Richmond stations for nearly an hour.

The transit agency initially issued an advisory about the service disruption shortly after 2 p.m. but did not specify the nature of the equipment problem.

As of shortly before 2:50 p.m., the service was restored. During the disruption, Alameda-Contra Costa Transit provided parallel bus service in the area.
