Victim Stabbed in El Cerrito Park Robbery Attempt
A man hiking in the Hillside Nature Area near the El Cerrito Recycling Center was stabbed in the stomach by a robber last weekend after the victim refused to surrender his property, police said.

A man is recovering after a suspect stabbed him during an attempted robbery in El Cerrito last weekend.Â
Around 5:50 p.m. last Saturday, the man was walking on a trail in the Hillside Natural Area, located next to the El Cerrito Recycling Center, when a suspect approached and demanded his property, according to police.
Police said the man refused and the suspect stabbed him in the stomach.
The man was able to drive himself to the hospital and called 911 to report the assault.
The suspect is described only as a male wearing dark clothing and a half-mask with a skull on it.
Police continue to investigate the incident.
