Favorite memory from teaching career:
Before she became a teacher within the Capistrano District, Martin was a paid teacher’s aid for deaf and hard of hearing students. Her favorite memory is of the accomplishments made by one of her students—a little girl who could not communicate. After much work with Martin she said, “push me,” pointing to a nearby merry-go-round.
Martin said she also loves seeing how much young students truly love school and learning.

Teaching hardships:
Martin said it is always hard having children who are struggling with their work. It is difficult to tell the parents they are having issues, she said.
“If we can all work as a team, a lot of growth happens,” she said.

Martin said she didn’t really have a favorite subject in school, but grew to love reading. She tried to always have a book in her hand and hopes to be a good example to her own children.
What are Ms. Martin's hobbies?
Martin loves decorating. Whether it be decorating her house, reading design magazines or tearing up her kitchen for a remodel (which she will be doing this weekend), she loves decorating.
