Alert OC Notifies Aliso Viejo Of Groping Suspect

Orange County Sheriff's Department sent out regional alerts overnight searching for a man who allegedly groped two girls near Aliso Creek.

ALISO VIEJO, CA — Two Aliso Viejo students reported being grabbed by a man wearing sunglasses. Now, in an ongoing effort to identify the suspect responsible, Orange County Sheriff investigators issued a Special Bulletin through our mass notification system – AlertOC.

A south Orange County wide broadcast message captured the attention of residents, doing exactly what the emergency broadcast was supposed to do.

"Our hope is to get this vital information out to as many people within the area as possible to encourage awareness and solicit tips," OCSD spokesperson Carrie Braun told Patch. "The sheriff’s investigator have been tirelessly working on this case and will continue to use all available resources."

Alert OC worked perfectly, according to the sheriff's department.

"Keeping the community safe is our top priority, and this is one more step in our efforts work towards that end," Braun said.
