Aliso Viejo Business TENNIS 101 Needs Your Support
Learn how TENNIS 101 is faring during the coronavirus and what you can do to support them during this difficult time.

The new coronavirus has changed life for all of us. Local businesses have taken a huge economic hit, but communities are finding creative ways to support the establishments they know and love.
In an effort to help local businesses in our communities stay connected and succeed, Patch will shine a light on some of them through a series of Q&A articles during this time.
TENNIS 101 is one of the businesses in town facing struggles during the coronavirus. You can lend your support by reading more about the company, below, and by contacting them here.

Tell us about your business and its history in your town.
TENNIS 101 was one of the first recreation programs in the city of Aliso Viejo in 1995. At that time, Aliso Viejo was composed of only a few homes, with empty rolling hills, few shops and lots of open space. When we first started our tennis program, we were excited to have four people in our first group lesson. Fast forward 25 years and today we have shared our passion for playing and teaching tennis with thousands of adults and children. Our success has been documented by the dozens of students dominating the tennis teams at Aliso Niguel High School and many other high schools in south Orange County, and the hundreds of adults who have embraced "the sport for a lifetime!"

How has the new coronavirus impacted your business and its employees?
On March 11, when the Orange County Health Officer issued an order banning large or small groups meeting in public or private, followed by the stay-at-home order from Governor Newsom issued the following day, we were forced to shut the business down.
How can local customers support you now and in the future?
The citizens of Aliso Viejo are already very supportive of our programs. We hope to continue to inspire those people, young and old, to get back out on the tennis courts when we are permitted to do so. We hope that they will resume their lessons, sign up their children for the summer tennis camps and continue getting the mental, emotional and physical exercise that tennis offers.
Do you have any words of encouragement for your community?
While so many of us miss our traditional forms of exercise during these difficult times, this too shall pass. It's so important to remain positive, to stay busy, to share these moments with the ones we love and be so grateful for the all of the wonderful things in our lives that we so often take for granted.
Are you offering any special services, promotions or hours during this time?
Yes, we are going to introduce a program once the new website is launched (yes, that's how I've been keeping busy: building a new website). We are going to be offering a free session of group lessons for three lucky students who subscribe to our newsletter and class information announcements.
Are there any other outstanding businesses in town you think deserve some community support?
Yes, the restaurant OPAH Seafood Grill in Aliso Viejo Town Center.
