Aliso Viejo Joins Lawsuit Against Sanctuary State Law

Aliso Viejo has voted 4-1 to say NO to the state of California's Sanctuary State law.

ALISO VIEJO, CA — After a contentious and long meeting at Aliso Viejo's city hall, Aliso Viejo joined Los Alamitos and Huntington Beach against SB54. The meeting of city council lasted over six hours as residents had their say.

"We had a robust discussion and I'm proud of my colleagues for their stamina and attention through 6 and a half hours of testimony," Aliso Viejo Mayor Dave Harrington said in a released statement to CBS2 News. "We did the right thing."

Commenters spoke on both sides of the issue, but in the end, council voted to uphold the measure and join in the fight.
