Area Student Earns Major Scholarship Honor from UC Berkeley

Congratulations to a new TAAP Scholar! Do you need help on your essays for scholarships or college admissions? The Write Direction can help.

Congratulations to Manuel Morales, a first generation student from Costa Mesa who's just started at UC Berkeley. He had a great summer---and it got even better when Berkeley notified him he'd been awarded a TAAP (The Achievement Award Program) scholarship, a huge honor and the largest freshman scholarship the university hands out. Manuel worked with The Write Direction, an Orange County-based nonprofit, on his scholarship essays, and texted us the news after he found out about the scholarship: "You helped me tell my story in a more effective manner. It's VERY hard to tell very personal experiences, but when it felt like I was writing to you, it somehow became easier."

Manuel is the type of young man who will change the world... in a very positive way. We here at The Write Direction are thrilled for him. Go Bears!

Do you know other students who need help with their essays for scholarships or admissions? Spread the word. We're here to provide FREE help to students who can't afford private college counselors and extremely affordable assistance to other students. All fees support the mission of The Write Direction, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. We also offer free workshops for high school seniors on how to write effective college admission essays. Workshops are open to all students. For a schedule, a scholarship application for essay help, or more about us, please see www.thewritedirection.org.
